Exhibition Opening Night – Anjee du Terreau

Pandora Gallery hosted a wonderful opening night for the brilliantly hued landscapes of Anjee du Terreau of Mudgee. The Gallery is a colour palette from the deep blues of rivers and seas to the burnt oranges and brilliant highlights of the outback.

More than fifty people enjoyed the rich and diverse landscapes on show and chatted with friends from near and far, many Dunedoo folk and Coonabarabran and Mudgee visitors.

Anjee is a delightful “Pocket Rocket”, originally from the UK but happily now in OZ with its kaleidoscope of brilliant colours. Trained as a photographer, then working as a ceramicist, Anjee has now found her real love in the palette of colours around Mudgee with its hills and vineyards, trees and rivers.

Anjee told us that not all paintings are conceived effortlessly – some are completed with blood, sweat and tears and others just magically appear on the canvas when her muse, the inspiration of all creative processes, helps you out.

It is interesting that Anjee is her own critic and if she feels disconnected from the work, if she doesn’t feel its energy, then it will be painted over. If a painting is worth a thousand words, then there are thousands of words hanging on these walls.

Anjee’s brilliant creations will be in Pandora Gallery until the end of April so pop in and be uplifted in the colours of Nature that surround us but sometimes we need to see them through others’ eyes to really appreciate them.
