Coolah is a popular stopping place for people travelling between Queensland and Victoria – if they like to get off the main highway and enjoy some picturesque travel. Coolah is centrally located to Dubbo, Tamworth, Gunnedah and Mudgee and is one of the gateways to the northern tablelands of NSW. The middle of everywhere really!
Distances from major towns:
The town has major entrances to the north on the Black Stump Way (also referred to as Warrumbungles Way on some maps), south on the Leadville Road, east on Cassilis Road (aka Vinegaroy Road) and a less travelled western entrance along Neilrex Road (on this map below it joins Queensborough Street).
